Picturing Health is a recently registered charity using film and art in public health. We work mostly in Africa, but also in Latin America. We make films to disseminate research in partnership with WHO, Medical Research Council and other leading institutions - helping to turn evidence into practice. We make films to train health workers, to inform patients and to spark debate in communities. We have worked a lot in the area of HIV, but also diabetes and other non-communicable diseases, mental health and child emergency medicine. We also have art projects in public hospitals, using art as therapy for mental health. Our main effort in this field is in El Salvador.
