Kickstart your Journey: An Introduction to the Good Employment Charter
SWIDN are pleased to host this Kickstarter information session on the Good Employment Charter, delivered by the West of England Combined Authority.
This free, open initiative is designed to help employers build organisations where people have secure, fulfilling, fairly-paid work and the opportunity to thrive in the workplace. Doing so not only improves morale and wellbeing, it also drives growth and performance, benefiting societies and communities.
For SWIDN, helping charities become champions of equality in every aspect of their work is a vital expression of solidarity. Advancing justice-focused practice here in the South West is just as central to our missions as challenging injustice beyond the UK.
The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority’s Good Employment Charter is a FREE tool designed to support organisations of any size or sector to improve investment in their staff and organisational practice. It’s a voluntary membership and accreditation scheme aimed to create an active network of employers within the West of England that are committed to supporting the basis of ‘good work’.
If your organisation is registered in Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol City, or South Gloucestershire, we’d love you to join us for this information session to hear from the Charter team at WECA on how to take advantage of this great opportunity.
In this introductory session you will:
- Learn more about the Charter and about the seven characteristics of good employment
- Understand what it means to be a Supporter or Member and how your organisation can sign up
- Better understand your business priorities in relation to the Charter and how to complete a digital action plan
- Understand the benefits
- Meet other like-minded organisations looking to start their journey
- Have the opportunity to speak to one of the Charter team and ask any questions.
