SWIDN Conference 2025

We are pleased to announce this year’s SWIDN Conference which will take place online on Thursday 16th October. Join us for a day of learning, connecting and reflecting at this online, free event which is open to all.

This year, we want to look boldly at some of the recurring challenges within development: racism in development funding, coloniality in what is known and practised within development models, and the rising inequality in our world. But we don’t want to stop there. Inspired by feminist academic Chandra Mohanty’s challenge to look for knowledge located beyond development in order to reimagine alternatives (2003), we will hear from others outside the International Development sector whose own work to tackle injustice can inform ours. With a focus on practical recommendations for meaningful change, we’ll be making space for learning, connecting and reflecting, with the aim of inspiring and equipping participants with a range of practical and accessible actions to implement.

You can register here for the Zoom link in advance, which will allow you to join any and all of the sessions throughout the day.
