CDS exists to foster research collaboration among staff and associates at the University of Bath in the field of international development. It was founded more than forty years ago, and currently helps to coordinate ID relevant research of more than fifty members spanning many different academic fields and disciplines. It is based in the Department for Social and Policy Sciences, and its current Director (2019) is James Copestake
