About us

Amigos Worldwide is a Barnstaple-based international development charity with 25 years of experience transforming lives in Uganda, through vocational training at our Kira Farm Development Centre, a family sponsorship programme, and rural community development projects. We’re a small, passionate team with a committed supporter base across Devon and beyond, and we’re now looking to grow.

About the role

This is a brand-new role for Amigos, with a strong focus on community fundraising through individuals. You’ll build and deepen relationships with our existing supporters, and design a re-engagement strategy to reconnect with those who’ve lapsed, keeping people connected to our work in Uganda through personal updates, field stories and social media. You’ll also plan and deliver a calendar of events: some to invite supporters to, and others where people take on a sponsored challenge, such as a walk, run or trek, to fundraise for Amigos. There’s real scope to grow a signature event over time, and real autonomy to shape all of this alongside our CEO.

About you

You’re a natural people person with experience in fundraising, sales, business development or community organising, self-motivated, creative, and comfortable building relationships in all kinds of settings, from a church hall to a boardroom. Sympathy with the Christian faith is essential, as is a full UK driving licence.

Hours: 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE), flexible/hybrid working available
Location: Barnstaple, with regular travel across Devon including Exeter
Contract: Permanent (subject to funding review)
