Safeguarding is everyones responsibility – including the trustees of an organisation.

This workshop will strengthen your safeguarding practice and give you an understanding of the risks, roles, responsibilities and responses for trustees. The session is aimed at any UK-based trustees of international development or humanitarian organisations. It is suitable as a first introduction or as a refresher course.

This course is a great opportunity to continue your professional development in safeguarding.

About Vicky Ferguson:

Vicky Ferguson is the Director of Safeguarding at a Funding Organisation with a global reach. She focuses on developing internal safeguarding practices and supporting grantees to develop robust and inclusive safeguarding practices, policies and procedures. Before moving ‘funder side’ Vicky spent 10 years working in small INGOs, predominantly in East Africa. Before moving into ‘International Development’ Vicky worked with children and young people in the UK in both the Third and Public Sector.

She worked predominantly within Homeless and Substance Misuse Services but has also spent time supporting young people in generic Youth Services. Vicky is passionate about developing Safeguarding Practices, Procedures and Policies that keep everyone safer and are contextually and culturally relevant to those implementing them.

This session will be an informal space where there will be time for questions, connections and clarifications. If you have any questions about this training in advance please email Emma at info@swidn.org.uk.

You can buy your tickets here. As with all our training, discounts are available for SWIDN members. If you are unsure which ticket is the correct one to purchase, please reach out to us at the email address above for clarification.

SWIDN is a micro charity and is unable to run trainings at a significant loss. If too few tickets are sold the training may be cancelled or postponed.
