Connecting Global Decisions with Local Action

Screenshot 2026-10-05 at 12.11.19

A joint UK Alliance online event.

19 November 2026 | 13:00–14:30

The G20 brings together 19 of the world’s largest economies and two major multilateral bodies – the European Union and the African Union. This group makes up 85% of global GDP, 75% of international trade, and two-thirds of the world’s population.

As President of the G20 in 2027, the UK will be in a position to influence the debate and press for agreement to achieve debt relief, action on climate change and a global economy that works for all.

The UK Alliance invites members and partners to a free online session exploring the G20 and Civil 20 (C20), ahead of the UK’s G20 presidency. The C20 is the G20’s official civil society engagement group, providing a space for civil society organisations, charities, non-profits and social movements to bring grassroots knowledge and the priorities of communities into global discussions.

What is it?

This practical and accessible 90-minute session will connect global policy discussions with the day-to-day work of organisations and communities. You will hear perspectives from global partners, learn straightforward ways to engage with decision-makers, explore opportunities linked to the G20 and C20, and exchange ideas with other UK Alliance members. The programme will centre inclusive global perspectives and recognise the different levels of time and capacity available across the sector.

What will I gain from attending?

  • A clearer understanding of the G20 and C20, why they matter and how organisations can take part
  • Insight into how global decisions affect communities, grassroots organisations and international development
  • Practical guidance on communicating with MPs and other decision-makers
  • Simple tools, useful resources and realistic actions for organisations with limited capacity
  • Space to ask questions, share experience and identify opportunities to work together
