Resilient Charities – Training Series

In the last few years, the fundraising landscape for international development charities in the UK has been shrinking. At the same time, scrutiny on traditional aid models and on the ideas behind development has increased. In our ever changing world, global poverty and inequality is not reducing, but efforts to tackle it seem to be under attack. How can we resource a global solidarity that is resilient to these challenges?
Join us for a 4-part series on resilient solidarity. In sessions focused on funding, shifting, merging and closing, we will explore how to resource solidarity in new and different ways, how to shift knowledge and ideas of justice away from the UK and the existing coloniality of development, how to consider merging with other organisations as a tool for resilience, and how to close well with minimal impact on our implementing partners. This is a bold series for practical learning, hearing from the experience of peers, partners, and professionals and thinking in new and different ways about how to really achieve our mission with all the options on the table.
Starting on 1st May 2025 – these four, one hour long sessions will be accessible to SWIDN members for free- Just register for your tickets at the link below or here to join us!
Paid for tickets are also available for non-SWIDN members who wish to come along. Ticket proceeds will go towards supporting SWIDN members to pay their membership fees through our ‘Pay it Forward’ scheme. To find out about becoming a SWIDN member read more here.
