Membership

Connect and collaborate with over 100 individuals and organisations across the South West working to achieve equality and justice globally.

Join a connected community working for global justice

SWIDN membership is open to individuals or organisations working for global justice outside the UK. By joining, you become part of a thriving, diverse network committed to global justice and meaningful collaboration across the South West.

What is the network?

The South West International Development Network (SWIDN) brings together NGOs, civil society groups, academics, researchers, consultants and purpose-driven businesses who want to strengthen their impact and work collectively for global justice.

As a registered charity, every membership fee directly supports the network - funding coordination, advocacy, events and accessible opportunities for members across the region. Our small team is supported by dedicated volunteers and trustees, and we partner widely with organisations that share our values so we can invest our resources where they matter most.

Our aim is simple:
To create spaces for connection, learning and collaboration so that our region can contribute meaningfully to global progress towards justice and solidarity.

How we work

Membership connects you to a network committed to:

  • Connecting people & ideas across sectors and lived experiences
  • Strengthening collaboration for greater global impact
  • Amplifying the South West’s voice in national policy conversations
  • Encouraging equitable, inclusive, justice-driven practice
  • Bringing together global justice-focused organisations from Cornwall to Gloucestershire

Every member strengthens the network.
Every connection strengthens our shared impact.

Accessible membership

We operate a tiered fee structure based on income to ensure everyone can participate fully.
If you wish, you can also voluntarily top up your fee to further support SWIDN’s work.

Membership is open to any individual and organisation contributing to the SDGs through work outside the UK. You can explore some of our members here.

Joining the network

Membership is open to organisations and individuals based in the South West, with a 'Friend of SWIDN' option for those located elsewhere in the UK.

When you join, you’ll be set up with an annually recurring subscription. We’ll notify you at least two weeks before renewal so you can update details or cancel if needed. We'll add you to our members-only mailing list so that you receive opportunities and information as soon as you join our community.

If you are an organisation with international partners, your membership includes your partners. While we welcome everyone to our events, our anti-colonial approach means that we don't position ourselves as a resource for organisations and individuals based outside the UK.
