DFID's UK Aid Direct Small Charities Challenge Fund (SCCF) is currently open for project and capacity development grant applications.

Type of project: Successful applications will clearly show how the project will: reach the most vulnerable or marginalised in society; contribute towards the UN’s Global Goals;  address DFID’s wider strategic objectives; and support the goals of UK Aid Direct.

Location: Projects are only eligible if they are set up in a country that is ranked in the bottom 50 of the UN Human Development Index or if it is considered of high or moderate fragility by DFID. Afghanistan, Somalia and Syria are the exceptions to this rule and are not eligible project countries for SCCF grants.

Eligibility: Grants are available for UK-registered organisations with an annual income of £250,000 or less.

Grant size: £50,000 for projects of up to two years.

DFID UK Aid Direct Small Charities Challenge Fund open for capacity development grant applications!

Type of project: DFID is offering new grants for organisations with the ability to build the capacity of small British charities working in international development. DFID is looking for innovative, evidence-based and ambitious proposals from organisations with a track record of supporting small, grassroots organisations to achieve their ambitions.

Eligibility: UK-registered, not-for-profit organisations or Groups of UK registered not-for-profit organisations with an annual income of less than £10 million may apply. 

Grant size: £100,000 for projects of up to two years.

Closing date: 28 November
