This new role will work closely with the Deputy Director of UKAid Direct on broad areas of technical relevance, ensuring grant performance and risk are proactively managed, evaluated and improved, and contributing to the overall success of the fund.
Providing oversight and quality assurance of the annual review and project completion reports and process, the role holder will also work closely with other team members to develop technical guidance to grant holders on areas for improvement and change within existing interventions, and develop resources to support learning, monitoring and evaluating the progress of individual grant holders as per their commitments.
You will be providing quality solutions to technical issues, and contributing to technical partners inputs to support the improved technical delivery of grant holder interventions.
With your broad technical knowledge and good sector strategic overview you will be able to identify common learning both within and external to the fund, promote use of best practice to grant holders and draw out fund specific learning to feed into wider sector policy dialogue.
The role will also be key to developing our company learning products, working with the Deputy Director and communications team to identify and contribute to lessons learning and knowledge sharing among grant holders and across the sector.
Ideally you will already have a Master’s degree in International Development, Policy and Planning, M&E or a related field. Equally important is at least 3 years’ experience of working within grant management including providing technical support to grant holders as part of multi grant holder programmes or funds and working with donors or multilaterals.
You should have experience and good understanding of the UK government’s overseas development strategies, and of civil society and working in sub-Saharan Africa and/or South Asia.
You will be able to show proven ability to manage and build excellent relations and collaboration with technical partners and donors.
