This is a fantastic opportunity to support transformational change in the drylands of Africa, using forestry and natural resource management to relieve poverty and protect the environment. TREE AID is unique in what we do and are growing fast. Working within the Operations team, the Policy and Advocacy Advisor will conduct policy research, provide social, economic and political analysis and offer support to country programmes on national policy, advocacy and influencing activities.

The Policy and Advocacy Advisor’s key objectives will be to:

• Support TREE AID UK Office and Country Management teams in overall external development policy research and analysis.
• Support TREE AID UK Office and Country Management programmes in planning and delivering their advocacy work and ensure that all project plans include influencing objectives.
• Support the TREE AID UK in external representation in line with TREE AID’s strategy and advocacy agenda
• Support continuous improvement of programme implementation through technical advice, capacity building and learning to create an environment for innovation.

You will have a background in international development with proven experience of working in research, policy influencing and advocacy responsibilities.

With excellent evaluation, research and analytical skills and the ability to present and report information accurately and intelligibly, you will take the initiative and work well as part of a team.
