About Ripple Effect (the new name for Send a Cow)
Ripple Effect is a growing and dynamic international development charity creating a wave of change in rural Africa. We are a partnership of experienced and committed African staff, working with support from the UK and US, and most importantly, with farming families in Africa. We are all inspired by the need to create an even greater impact on hunger and poverty in African communities that are increasingly threatened by economic challenges and the climate crisis. Together, we support families to learn more, grow more and sell more. They then share what they know and have with their communities, creating a ripple effect of environmentally sustainable change across rural Africa.
Our Bath based UK office supports our programme work in Africa. The Fundraising and Engagement Team is made up of 30 people, currently raising in excess of £7 million. The Partnerships and Philanthropy Team is key to Ripple Effect’s growth and success and raises funds through two income streams – philanthropists and companies.
The Team is currently made of five dedicated and creative fundraisers with a can-do attitude which is yielding strong results. With many years of sector and Ripple Effect experience the team is on-track to raise £1million in 21/22. The Team has an excellent track record of stewarding five and six figure gifts from philanthropists and companies in the UK and Europe. This varied portfolio of donors and partners, many of whom have been supporting the charity for over ten years, receive bespoke engagements and invitations to relevant and thought-provoking events to fulfil their philanthropic objectives. The team works closely with our Fundraising Intelligence Lead to provide valuable insight into developing new opportunities to enable long-term and sustainable growth.
Beyond the direct team, there are opportunities for the post-holder to get involved in a range of cross-organisational groups aimed at ensuring Ripple Effect is a great place to work, these include our Wellbeing Team and our Values Team.
If you have the essential skills required for this position and the passion for our mission and values, we would love to hear from you.
