Safeguarding Working Group

Event Description

SWIDN want to support our members to build cultures of safeguarding within their organisations. This Safeguarding 'Surgery' Working Group will be an opportunity to think through different safeguarding 'What If's' that are possible for the environments in which you and your partners work. We will bring a few different scenarios to each session and use breakout rooms and jamboards to talk through how we might respond, whether our organisational policies address the issues raised, and whether there are learning opportunities for our organisations and partners to improve our responses, systems and cultures to prevent harm from happening.

We strongly encourage our members to attend with their partners and colleagues responsible for implementing safeguarding at a community level, and the named Trustee responsible for safeguarding in the UK. This will be a confidential space to learn together with space to process some of our discussion afterwards.

June's session will consider safeguarding best practice in relation to volunteers, staff and associates. We are very grateful to Simon Vorley for volunteering his time and willingness to share his expertise in co-facilitating this group.
