About the trainer - Clare Bishop
Clare has thirty five years’ experience of working in agriculture and rural development with particular attention to gender issues, rural livelihoods and food security, and beneficiary profiling and poverty targeting, mainly in east and southern Africa.
Clare is currently working as an independent consultant with various international agencies including European Commission, FAO and OECD: participating in or leading missions as gender and poverty targeting specialist; technical author; and trainer in gender mainstreaming in project management. She was previously employed as: lead technical specialist on gender and social inclusion with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD); senior officer on HIV/AIDS and food security with Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO); senior lecturer in the Department of Women and Gender Studies at Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda; lecturer at Cranfield University; and professional development trainer with the Universities of Birmingham and Wales, and RIPA International, London.
