African Initiatives' 20th Anniversary Gala Dinner

Event Description

COME JOIN THE CARNIVAL AND CHANGE LIVES

African Initiatives are celebrating 20 years of empowering women and girls. To mark our 20th anniversary – and to ensure we can continue to fund our girls’ education and women’s health and economic empowerment projects in Tanzania in the years to come – we’re hosting an Anniversary Gala Dinner at magical Circomedia on Saturday 14th October.

It will be a fabulously uplifting evening... in more ways than one! Guests will enjoy a kaleidoscope of thrilling entertainment (including a heart-stopping aerial silks performance) and also hear truly inspiring stories of global development progress.

BBC broadcaster Jonathan Dimbleby will talk about his travels through Africa. Our Tanzanian partner, an amazing Maasai woman called Lilian Looloitai, will  also share her personal, fascinating story and speak about the challenges facing the Maasai and other pastoralist communities today.

In addition, our special evening will feature internationally renowned jazz singer Kate Dimbleby  plus our aerial silks artist. We’ll also have a brilliant African drumming band and music from Brazil and the rest of the world, including 1997 UK hits. Think Spice Girls and Things Can Only Get Better!

Tickets are £50 a head and include bubbles and nibbles and two-course dinner, plus all the entertainment mentioned above. If you’d like to come and bring along any family/friends, please call Karen on 07545 145 540 as there are now just a few tickets remaining.
